Ron Gould is a small businessman and former 4-term State Senator. Gould also served on the Lake Havasu City Council. For the past 34-years he has owned and operated an air conditioning contracting business. As a conservative, he is particularly interested in limited government, increasing personal freedom and increasing personal responsibility. During his time in the Senate, Gould was Chairman of the Ethics Committee along with chairing the Judiciary, Transportation and Retirement Committees. Ron was also Vice-Chairman of the Education, Appropriations, Judiciary and Finance Committee. In addition to being a political advocate, Ron is an avid reader and enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including; hunting, motor cycling, horseback riding, boating, water skiing, and gardening. Ron was raised in Orange County, California. He moved to Arizona in 1995 in pursuit of a better quality of life and lower taxes. Ron Gould understands that if we are going to get our economy back on track, we cannot continue to overspend our budget by millions of dollars every year.
To rein in spending, Ron supports placing spending limits into to the state constitution. This will keep government from out growing our economy. Ron will not vote for budgets that continue the fiscally irresponsible practice of spending what we don’t have.
The politicians in Washington have refused to take serious steps to bring our national debt under control. This has left us with trillions in debt that our children and grandchildren will be responsible for.
Rather than using Washington as our model, Ron Gould would use any surplus revenue to pay down the state’s debt and return to our constitutional limit.
Ron Gould has been a leader in Arizona in finding real solutions to stopping illegal immigration. Throughout his career, he has consistently offered common sense solutions to help Arizona do what the federal government won’t – put a stop to illegal immigration in our state.
In the State Senate, Ron opposed any effort to offer amnesty to illegal aliens. He will also stand firm against the left’s continuing effort to push for policies that reward illegal immigration while ignoring the very serious problems it brings.
A consistent advocate for the sanctity of human life, Ron Gould is 100 percent pro-life and has the voting record to prove it.
Ron was also the sponsor of Arizona’s Marriage Protection amendment that defined marriage in our state as between one man and one woman.
As County Supervisor, Ron will always fight for the unborn and Arizona’s families.
With an A+ rating from the National Rifle Association and a lifetime Achievement Award from the Arizona Citizen’s Defense League, Ron Gould has been one of Arizona’s leaders in protecting the 2nd Amendment. Time and again, Ron has sponsored legislation protecting and strengthening your right to keep and bear arms in Arizona.
